Vision, Goals and Purpose

Habakkuk 2:3-3 says write a vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. though it tarries, wait for it, because it will surely come to pass.

Vision is the ability to see and plan into the future, without a vision a person has no direction and literally to a journey to nowhere. A person may carry many dreams but still go nowhere because they have not defined where they are going or how they will get there. In fact many people live by other people's definition for their lives. This is not what God wants for your life.

Vision is the divine deposit inside you, it distinguishes you and makes you unique. Vision is the footprint, the impact that you leave on earth. its the eye of your spirit through which you can see where you want to go. if you have no vision you can not know true success. Similarly some people have vision with no direction or practical thinking. The most important thing is to write down your vision, normally your vision is powered by thinks you are passionate about. You must also set a time frame, have a vision with a clearly defined definite of purpose. What is your Vision? Where do you want to be in the next five years.

Principles of an Eagle

Eagles have strong vision, they have the ability to focus on something up to five kilometers away. When an eagle sites it prey, he narrows his focus on it and sets out to get it, no matter the obstacle. The Eagle will not move his focus from the prey until it grabs it.

Goals

Having a vision written down is not enough, you need to set goals. A goal is an aim or purpose in life which direct you to your desired destination. Goals must be SMART

Simple

Measurable

Attainable

Realistic

Time Bound

There is need to start what you have planned and finish what you have started. A lot of people have set goal but have no practical action to attain it, they leave everything to chance.''Whatever you do, you need courage, whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising which tempt you to believe that your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to an end, requires some of the same courage which a soldier needs. Peace has its victories, but it takes brave men to win them'' (Ralph Waldo Emerson)

Strategic Planning

Five points toward your goals

  • Planning stage

  • Execution stage

  • Obstacle stage

  • Reversal stage

  • In the give up stage

''every adversity brings with it the seed of equivalent advantage'' (Napoleon Hill)

When you encounter on of these stages, the next thing to do is to:

Take Action

  1. Prayer is action

  2. Seek advice

  3. Make sure something is happening all the time

  4. desire with enduring faith-if you are not willing to fight for your plan from start to finish, then there is no reason why it was launched in the first place.

Purpose

Purpose is the reason for doing something, the aim to which an action is directed. The true purpose of setting and achieving goals is to serve and help others. It is to make this world a better place and share the wealth for the benefits of others. you cannot out give God, if you and I will use the resources he has given us, time, talent and treasure in ways that fulfills his purpose for our lives he will keep opening doors and shine greater light on our path.

Point to remember: Have a vision and remain focused no matter what the obstacle and you will succeed.
